House of The Dragon, like its parent canon Game of Thrones, is full of themes and subject matters that requires content/trigger warnings. Considering the show, there's a blanket warning for graphic depictions of violence, incest and grooming across the board.

Specifically for Aemond, warnings are (in no particular order):
Graphic violence, misogynistic & homophobic language/opinions, religious trauma, PTSD resulting from childhood injury, unaddressed CSA, child murder, cult mentality (Targaryen Exceptionalism), and more to add as they come up.

Aemond finds SA reprehensible but doesn't have the vocabulary for or adequate exposure to enthusiastic consent. Additionally, while the character is particularly disinclined towards SA, he's not above using toxic masculinity to insult or belittle others to his benefit. He's not a great person, he just thinks he is.

CANON POINT.

☞ End of season 2 for saltburnt.
☞ Malleable canon point for memes with a preference for post-Rook's Rest, unless otherwise specified.

SHOW VS BOOK.
☞ Defaulting to show canon across the board, but I have read Fire & Blood and I'm happy to switch over to book canon if discussed.
☞ Some familiarity with the ASOIAF books (I've read AGOT, going through ACOK) and have seen all of Game of Thrones.

APPEARANCE.

Aemond is tall, lean, and has a menacing presence to him. He has the distinct Targaryen features hailing from their Valyrian roots: silvered hair, pale lilac eye, and a pale complexion.

He wears his hair long and in a loose half-up tie. He has a missing left eye; he wears a false sapphire eye in the socket and an eyepatch over that to hide most of the scarring. His facial scar is a jagged slash starting close to his hairline and ending at the top of the jawbone.

He has the posture and discipline of someone who's been raised in royal court, and he acts with the entitlement common with such an upbringing.

Aemond has trauma from a childhood injury, CSA (pressured into sex with a much older woman), and unintentionally killing his nephew (dragons are not pets!!!).

He has a highly entitled demeanor to him on account of being a prince, then Prince Regent, then basically one of the worst war criminals his family will ever produce.

INTERACTIONS.
☞ IN GENERAL.

Aemond is not a good person; he's a violent war criminal who feels justified in his actions because of a terrible series of wrongs that had been done to him as a child. For this reason he's not a warm or friendly character to interact with at first; if your character is the type to be easily offended or is looking for an understanding person to speak with, he may not be the best character to tag.

Additionally, I would appreciate discussing any outright hostility with anyone on Team Black beforehand for blind threads. I understand that passive aggressive sniping is a meme lifeblood; I'd appreciate setting clear IC boundaries OOCly if we're headed to proper aggressive territory or move to something less intense but just as dramatic.

☞ THOUGHTS ON AUs.

I love AUs within the HOTD setting, so if you'd like to write a scene or two in this vein, let me know! Here are a few ideas if you're curious.

Not that interested in modern AUs currently. I tend to be very particular about modern AUs because Aemond is a difficult character to AU into modern settings where ✨canon conflicts✨ don't exist, but I'm open to some scenarios if we've been threading for some time.

OPEN to other fantasy and historical canons, most modern canons in a jamjar-style setting. Happy to tag OCs, CRAUs, and fandom OCs. Cross-medium is fine as well!

I do have a preference for no assumed CR outside of show!HOTD characters. I'll most likely not tag back if I get sprung on with assumed CR threads outside of show castmates, though game-mates from @saltburnt get a pass if we cross paths in memeland.

☞ I'm good with writing NSFW or FTB, with a preference for NSFW just because I enjoy having details to return to if we thread again in the future.

☞ Generally playing Aemond in the 16-19 age range for NSFW (playing him as 18 years old in @saltburnt), with a strong preference for the older half of the range.

☞ Very extremely cautiously open to playing Aemond as young as 13 for NSFW situations (aegon u will pay for ur crimes), but only in the context of addressing his CSA and course-correcting it. It would essentially be an AU but I think there's room to work with.

☞ Absolutely PM me first before springing anything 15-below, and please don't take it personally if I say no. Will be very particular about playing from this scenario for obvious reasons.
